Being recognized and inducted into the Steinway Hall of Fame is a milestone I never truly expected, and it represents a profound validation of the dedication and passion I have poured into teaching the art of piano over the years. The entire experience was humbling, and I feel immense gratitude to be placed among such an esteemed group of educators and artists.
This recognition is not just for me; it reflects the commitment and hard work of all my students—past and present—who inspire me every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Steinway & Sons for this incredible honor, and to everyone who has supported me on this journey. It was a truly unforgettable event!
Nine-year-old Jasper Ouyang from The Quarry Lane School secured a phenomenal 4th place in the prestigious Berlin Classical Music Competition. His extraordinary achievement on the global stage, showcasing his dedication and talent, came from a masterful rendition of Frédéric Chopin’s Berceuse in D-flat Major, Op. 57. Jasper’s sensitivity, musicality, and impressive technical control captivated the judges in this international competition. Achieving such a high ranking at a young age is an extraordinary feat, honoring his family, teachers, and The Quarry Lane School, and foreshadowing a promising musical future.

Sixth-grader Isaac Chang of Gale Ranch Middle School and Jasper Ouyang of Quarry Lane School have clinched first place in the prestigious Special Venue Music Competition, co-hosted by Harvard University and the San Francisco Opera. They are set to perform their winning program, which includes Beethoven’s Pathetique and Debussy’s Passepied, at the SF Opera House concert on October 4, 2025.

Noelle Liu, a 12-year-old from Gale Ranch Middle School, was awarded 1st place in both the Salzburg and Tokyo competitions, along with the prestigious 2025 International Music Grand Prize Virtuoso.
Additionally, 9-year-old Jasper Ouyang from Quarry Lane School secured 1st place with the Beethoven Pathetique and received the Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize.
